Synthesizer, piano, accordion, hammered dulcimer and hurdy-gurdy.
My career as a live musician started when I was only 11 years old. With the accordion orchestra I played in at the time, I did several concert tours to Slovakia, Sweden, Russia and China. When I developed a passion for louder music, I started playing the synthesizers and found my own gothic-metal band called 'Asthenia'. We played as a support-act for bands such as Delain, Xystus, Kingfisher Sky and Epica.
Only a couple of years ago I discovered the world of folk-music, and with that the hurdy-gurdy and hammered dulcimer. Very soon I joined Cesair, LEAF and short after that also balfolk sensation Kelten zonder Grenzen. With these bands I'm to be found on stage all through the country regularly: Bibelot in Dordrecht, Tivoli Oudegracht in Utrecht, Archeon in Alphen aan de Rijn, Castlefest in Lisse... and more is to follow soon.
Being a designer, music composer and producer I tend to get stuck behind my computer. But on stage something in me is unleashed and I truly become one with the music and make sure all of the audience can see I'm having the time of my life. Being classically trained from the age of 7, I read notes fluently and have a deep understanding of harmony. My style of playing is not leaning to one particular genre which makes me all-round, but not a specialist.
As a session musician I've contributed to the FAUN album "Eden" on hurdy-gurdy, to some tracks for American singer-songwriter Yvette Graveline and the soundtrack for a Dutch film on accordion and I will play the synthesizers on the upcoming album of Reincarnatus.
